“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”- 1 Corinthians 13:4–5

Love is patient. True love is inconvenient. True love does not always fit into your schedule.

Love is kind. Pure love has good intentions. A kind heart is essential to love properly.

Love does not envy. Love is not selfish and is not jealous of others. Being jealous does not show love.

Love does not boast. Being boastful is not true love. True love does not have room for pride.

Love is not proud. Being in a relationship to get something out of it is not pure love. Pure love does not need recognition.

Love does not dishonor others. True love shows honor and respect. Love listens to other perspectives.

Love is not self-seeking. Being self-seeking is not fueled by love. You are not supposed to love just because you are getting something out of the relationship. That is not pure love. Love should not focus on selfish desires.

Love is not easily angered. Love should have an open mind and should not get angered quickly.

Love keeps no record of wrongs. When you hold grudges that is not true love. With true love, you need to forgive people and move on from their mistakes.

Love has many definitions, but this is what true love means to me.
